Dr. Klaus Zechner joined ETS in 2002 and has been leading R&D efforts in automatic scoring of non-native speech, resulting in the SpeechRater(SM) system being deployed for TOEFL(R) Practice Online Speaking in October of 2006. His educational background includes four MS and MA degrees in Computer Science, Linguistics, Cognitive Science and Computational Linguistics as well as a PhD in Language and Information Technologies from Carnegie Mellon University. He has published numerous papers in top NLP and speech conferences and journals and holds a patent on automatic speech scoring. |
