Description: Christian Dugast, multilingual French citizen, was born in 1960. He received the Diploma and the Ph.D. degree in "Computer Science" from the University of Toulouse (France), respectively in 1983 and 1987. In 1989 he joined Philips Research Laboratories in Germany as Research Scientist to work on continuous speech recognition. He has been responsible for benchmarking Philips technology on the ARPA "North American Business news" task. He has been appointed Deputy Group Leader in 1993. In 1995, he left research to enter the business world within Philips Speech Processing business unit as the Product Manager of the telephony platform called SpeechMania, to follow on 2 years later as Innovation Manager. In 1998, he joined the silicon-valley start-up company Nuance Communications as Director of the European Operations in Paris to build up the market in Europe. From 2002 on he is Head of Business Development of the start up OneBridge AG in Germany that develops and markets Speech Application Development Tools in order to accelerate the introduction of Speech Recognition and Understanding in the market. Since 2006 he is consultant for new high tech companies |
