   EDUCATION:

   1992: University Honour Degree in Modern Foreign Literatures and
   Languages and Linguistics, University of Naples "Federico II".


   October 1990/March 1991: Courses of Phonetics, and Psycholinguistics a
   the Dept. of Linguistics of the University of Manchester "Victoria"
   under the agreement of the Erasmus Project.


   July 1994: Elsenet Summer School on Corpus-Based Methods University
   of  Utrecht OTS (the Nederlands).


   September/October1994: III Specialisation course in Italian
   Linguistics,University of "Rome III".


   July 1999: Elsenet Summer School on Multimodality in Language and
   Speech, KTH Stockolm.


   CURRENT OCCUPATION:

   Doctorate student in the Graduate School of Speech Technology,
   organised by Gothenburg University, Sweden. Topic of research:
   multilingual/multimodal speech communication.


   PREVIOUS PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES and RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:

   Loredana has carried out research activities in the field of
   linguistics, phonetics, speech analysis and speech technologies
   application (speech synthesis, speech recognition, speaker
   verification) since 1993.

   Some of the most important experiences are here reported:


   1993-94: CIRASS, Neaples (Interdepartmental Centre for the Analysis
   and Synthesis of Speech): collection of databases of spoken Italian
   (DIVA).


   1995: National Acoustical Laboratories, AHS, Chatswood, NSW
   Australia,: intelligibility tests design and running.


   1996/1999: Fondazione Ugo Bordoni (Rome), "Multimedia Communication
   Division" working group  "Speech communication", collection of a
   speech database for speaker verification over the phone (SIVA);
   EUTRANS project "Example-Based Language Translation Systems", project
   n. 30268 of the Information Technology LTR European programme.


   1999: Dept. of Electronical and Electrotecnical Engineering,
   Politecnical University of  Bari, Italy, collection of the Italian
   database AVIP (Archives of Varieties of Spoken Italian).


   2000/2001: Telia Promotor Infovox, Sweden: Development of Text to
   Speech Synthesis Systems (Infovox 330).


   Loredana has also been lecturing "Speech Teehnologies" at the Dept of
   Linguistics of Uppsala University and Italian as a L" in different
   private schools.
