Ran Gazit received his B.Sc and M.Sc. degrees from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, in 1986 and 1990, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Aeronautics and in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, CA, in 1996. Dr. Gazit worked with RAFAEL, Israel on research and development of advanced guidance and control laws. As a research associate at Stanford University, Dr. Gazit developed algorithms for the FAA’s Wide Area DGPS project. He then switched from satellite navigation to speech processing, and went to lead the Speaker Identification team of Comverse Technology. This team became the seed for PerSay, a leading provider of voice verification solutions for remote services, where Ran was CTO and Chief Scientist until 2008. Currently Ran is the Smart Sensing and Computer Vision group manager at General Motors' Advanced Technical Center in Israel. |
