Call for Papers

AIM

The special track on Artificial Intelligence forms a forum to bring
together
the researchers and the practitioners of artificial intelligence from
various
 disciplines. This forum provides an excellent opportunity to understand
and
to appreciate different perspective of problems and their potential
solutions.
The main conference provides an additional opportunity to learn about some

interesting Nonlinear Problems in Aviation and Aerospace and their
potential
solutions.

This special track consists of an invited keynote address, a panel
session,
and several sessions of presentation of the accepted papers.

AREAS OF INTEREST

Submit an extended abstract of up to 5 pages addressing either the
theoretical
issues or the practical aspects of the following broad area of Artificial
Intelligence.

- Knowledge-based system
- Application of AI for Design
- Temporal and Spatial Reasoning
- Monotonic and nonmonotonic reasoning
- Planning and Scheduling
- Genetic Algorithm
- Genetic Programming
- Data Mining
- Neural networks

Important Dates

 Extended Abstract up to 5 pages is due on  February 28, 1998
 Camera ready copy of the accepted paper is due on May 30, 1998

Paper Submission

Submit an exteneded abstract of unpublished original research work in any
one of the announced topics. The extended abstract can be up to 5 single
spaced pages including figures and references. Mail me 4 copies of the
extended abstract at the address given below.

Alternatively, extended abstract can be submitted
electronically. Create a postscript file of the paper and ftp it at
the CACS ftp site (ftp at ftp.cacs.usl.edu).Ftp at CACS by entering
"ftp ftp.cacs.usl.edu" and login as anonymous user. After loged in at
the ftp site, change the directory to incoming/icnpaa98 (using the
command "cd incoming/icnpaa98"). Change the mode to binary by entering
the command "bin". Suppose the postscript file of your paper is
paper.ps. Complete the ftp transfer by entering "put paper.ps".  After
the successful transfer of your postscript file, e-mail me your name
and the title of the paper at logan@cacs.usl.edu.
