		   Call for Papers (short version)
			 IJCAI-97 Workshop on
		  The Future of AI and the Internet
		       August 24, Nagoya, Japan
                
The aim of this workshop is to discuss the medium to long-term
research agenda for Artificial Intelligence on the Internet. Workshop
participants will be expected to take a position on the central
question: "What aspect of AI will play an important role on the
Internet in the next 5-10 years, and why?" The workshop will take the
shape of a debate on the current state, future promise, and overall
importance of different research areas.

Electronic submissions, not longer than 10 pages (if printed) for full
papers, or 3 pages for short position papers, are due by February 19,
