The Centre for Communication Interface Research is part of the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. CCIR was set up to continue the extensive research into automated systems, focusing particularly on speech and telephone interfaces, which has been pursued by its members at the University since the mid-1980s. Over recent years CCIR's research has diversified into multimedia and virtual reality interfaces. CCIR collaborates closely with industrial and commercial partners in the design and evaluation of human-computer interfaces as well as undertaking more general studies of the human factor in interface design. | |
