The Speech Hearing and Language Research Centre,
established at the Macquarie University, is located within the
Department of Linguistics and has four basic aims: to advance pure,
basic and applied research in the speech speech science field
including experimental phonetics and the various aspects of speech
technology; to carry out research and clinical analysis in audiology
and hearing science; to carry out research and clinical analysis in
communication disorders and speech pathology; to advance pure, basic,
and applied research in the field of experimental linguistics and
natural language processing.
