OvGU (www.uni-magdeburg.de) is a public university located in Magdeburg,
Federal State of Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany, and some 150km west of Berlin. It has
a strong tradition in technological subject since 50 years. It comprises nine
faculties, among which there six in sciences and technology.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology has 5
institutes and 2 associated institutes with altogether 17 chairs. The largest
of these is the Institute of Electronics, Signal Processing and Communications
Technology with 4 chairs in Technical Computer Science, Integrated Circuits,
Communications Technology and Speech Recognition. The Speech Recognition Chair
performs independent research both in fundamental and in applied topics,
collaborating widely with other academic and industrial groups.
