RALI (Recherche appliquée en linguistique informatique, applied research in computational linguistics) is a language technology research group within the Computer Science department of the University of Montreal. Current research activities include interactive machine translation, translation quality assurance, email handling, text summarization, and both monolingual and cross-linguistic question answering and information retrieval. Language capabilities cover English, French, Chinese, Arabic and Spanish. In addition to a range of basic language resources and technology, finished products perform identification of the language and encoding of text documents, web access to bilingual concordances and monolingual corpora, reaccentuation of French text, and web mining for translation corpora; demonstrations of some of these are available through the RALI web site.
