[EAR-InfoReq] Arabic voice interface

I am a phonetician/phonologist currently preparing a NSF funding
proposal for research on Arabic voice interface. I'm needing to
ascertain the state of the art for Arabic speech recognition and speech 
synthesis, Arabic WAC (wearable audio computer) implementations, and Arabic 
voice interface applications.

Would anyone be able to direct me to a published summary of the state of the 
art, or to people currently involved in this area?
