For MCSE, the course "Parallel Logic Programming Systems", held by Assoc.Prof. Tudor MURESAN, PhD, includes a chapter in Unification-Based Approaches to Grammar. For undergraduate students in Computer Science and Enginering (long cycle, forth year of study), the course "Artificial Intelligence", held by Prof. Ioan Alfred LETIA, PhD, includes a chapter on Natural Language Processsing. implemented systems and tools: Reversible English-Romanian Translator PATR II Compiler Grammar Learner based on Neural Networks English-Romanian Semantic Equivalence Tester in ALEP computing and communication facilities: IBM-PC, Sun, Internet programming languages and operating systems used in the department: Prolog (SICStus Prolog), Lisp, CAML, C, C++, Ms-Dos, Windows, Novell, Solaris, Linux collaborative activities: The Department of Computer Science is engaged in four Tempus SJEP projects: The objectives of the ROCOCO SJEP is the introduction of new degree courses and the restructuring of existing degree courses and of their content in Computer Science and Engineering. DISCO SJEP aims to the development in Romania of short-term higher education in computing, centred on distributed processing and its application. IARCOD SJEP is dedicated to the development of a short cycle and practically oriented higher education system in roumanian universities. CNTP Sjep aims to develop the Romanian higher education in the area of Computer Networks.

Visits of Professor Ioan Alfred LETIA at: the University of Exeter, United Kingdom and the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, EC Tempus (November 1993); the University of Saarland and DFKI, Saarbrücken, Germny (October-November 1994).
