Department of Methodology of Latvian Language and Literature is focusing efforts on research activities as well as training and education activities in the field of Latvian language and literature. The recent research project: " Prosodic and Vocalism Systems of Standard Latvian and High Latvian Dialects". At the department the research is being conducted in the field of pronunciation of Latvian sounds made by non-Latvians residing in Latvia. The main achievements: 1) Determination of the phoneme system of High Latvian dialect and Standard Latvian. 2) Pronunciation exercises intended for non-Latvians to improve their pronunciation.
