The research at our department focuses on Man - Machine - communication in Slovak. The two main areas are SPEECH RECOGNITION and SPEECH SYNTHESIS in Slovak. In 1998 to 2000 we were involved in the INCO COPERNICUS SpeechDat-E project “ Eastern European Speech Databases for Creation of Voice Driven Teleservices”. In the frame of this project we have designed a 1000 speakers speech database in Slovak. Our recent project (2002 to 2004)called "Modern speech processing technologies in Slovak utilising speech corpora" is supported by the Slovak Grant Agency. We work on the IBM PC computers under MS WINDOWS 98/2000/XP and LINUX. Programming langages are C++, PASCAL and JAVA.
