The activities of the Laboratory cover the following research areas: - basic studies on Estonian phonetics (acoustics and perception of Estonian sounds, word and sentence prosody), - phonetic databases (participation in the project "BABEL - A Multi-Language Database" under the EU COPERNICUS-programme, - speaker recognition using neural networks, - diphone synthesis of Estonian.
