Dr. Imed Zitouni is a senior research scientist at IBM T.J. Watson Research
Center since 2004. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. with the highest honors from
the University of Nancy1 France in 1996 and 2000, respectively. In 1995, he
also obtained a MEng degree in computer science from ``Ecole National des
Sciences de l'Informatique'', a prestigious national computer
science institute in Tunisia. Before joining IBM, he was a scientist at a
startup company named DIALOCA in 1999-2000. He then joined Bell Laboratories
Lucent-Alcatel between 2000 and 2004 as a research staff member.
His research interests include language modeling, natural language call
routing, natural language processing, machine learning, and spoken dialogue
systems. Imed Zitouni is a senior member of IEEE, the Information Officer of
the ACL Special Interest Group on Computational Approaches to Semitic
Languages, and a member of ISCA and ACL. He served as chair and member of
reviewing committees of several international conferences and journals. He has
also authored/co-authored more than 75 papers in international conferences and
journals.
