Christian FLUHR, PhD University of Paris-Sud (1977), director of LIC2M, Vice
president of ELRA, has been working in the field of natural language processing
since the early 1970s. He was one of the creators of SPIRIT, a multilingual,
multiplatform text indexing software, and one of the founders of Systex, CEA
spin-off that produced text normalizing and retrieval software in the mid
1980s, and which was bought out by TGID in the early 1990s. A well-known figure
in the information retrieval and natural language processing community,
Christian has participated in many scientific conferences as presenter, invited
speaker, and program committee member, notably he was program chair of
RIAO'88 and RIAO'2004. He has often been consulted by the French
government and large private entities concerning information retrieval,
cross-language information retrieval and subjects related to natural language
processing.
