The Language Technologies Institute (LTI) of the School of
Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University conducts research and
provides graduate education in all aspects of language technology and
information management. The LTI was established in 1996, as an
expansion of the Center for Machine Translation (CMT). The CMT still
exists, as part of the LTI.
