is primarily concerned with Speech recognition, coding and synthesis:
Hidden Markov Model (HMM) and Neural Network techniques, the HTK
toolkit, and applications of speech recognition, Computer vision:
interpretation of visual motion, visual tracking, robot guidance, face
detection and tracking, image segmentation and compression, Robotics,
Cambridge University Robot Language (CURL), rehabilitation
engineering, robot hand-eye coordination, Neural networks: statistical
techniques in healthcare, models for speech analysis, and large
vocabulary continuous speech recognition, Biomedical engineering,
medical image processing: freehand 3D ultrasound, the Stradx system,
quality assurance in maternity care, and transplant rejection risk
management.
