The Council is a non-governmental international organization founded to promote research and development in the area of spoken language processing. The principal task of the Council is to arrange for the venue of the International Conferences on Spoken Language Processing (ICSLP) by deciding the place and appointing for each conference an organization capable of assuming complete financial and administrative responsibility for that conference. A second function of the Council is to provide continuity between conferences, and to serve as a resource available to the organizers of each conference. |
