-------- Original Message -------- Subject: The 2nd IEE International Conference on Intelligent Environment, Athens, Greece Date: Mon, 14 Nov 2005 12:00:33 -0000 From: Hagras, Hani A K <hani_(on)_essex.ac.uk> Dear Colleague: This is to notify you and invite you to submit a paper to the Second IEE International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE 06) which will take place on the 5-6 July 2006 at Athens, Greece. More information about the confernce can be found in http://conferences.iee.org/ie06 The conference follows on the successful IE 05 which took place in the University of Essex, Colchester, UK. The Conference will focus on intelligent environments which is a rapidly developing area for industrial and academic research. Intelligent environments are spaces such as cars, offices, shopping malls, homes, and even our own bodies, that are able to respond "thoughtfully" to our needs. Over the last decade a number of research areas have contributed to the concept of intelligent environments, these include ubiquitous computing, pervasive computing, embedded intelligence, intelligent user interfaces, human factors, intelligent buildings, mobile communications, domestic robots, intelligent sensors and ambient intelligence. The Conference aims to bring together researchers from both industry and academia working within the various disciplines that constitute the field of Intelligent Environments. It is hoped that this will help to identify inter-disciplinary opportunities, stimulate research and create links between industry and academia allowing the exploration of new frontiers in the area of intelligent environments. The confernce will be supported by the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE). The morning of the first day of the Conference will feature workshops on different areas of the intelligent environments domain, the first day will also feature keynote speeches in the different disciplines of the area of Intelligent Environments. The afternoon of the first day as well as the second day will feature the peer reviewed papers presented in parallel sessions. The workshop proceedings will be published by the IEE. The workshop will also feature poster sessions and an industrial exhibit area. Please let me know if you have any queries or if you need any more information. Looking forward for your response.
