Description: Until recently I was a researcher in Speech Technology at Edinburgh University, where I produced English pronunciation lexica, primarily for speech technology systems. Past projects include Onomastica (names pronunciation) and Chambers (printed UK dictionary). Recently I completed an accent-independent dictionary which combines with accent-specific rules to produce transcriptions in regional English, enabling synthesis of regional accents; this is due for release soon for non-commercial purposes. I am now working on English lexica at Rhetorical Systems. |
