Amnon Meyers
Two decades developing natural language engineering tools and
methods, many of them with co-architect David de Hilster. VOX system
developed for DARPA/Navy at UC Irvine, California 1982-87 led to the
creation of MUC (Message Understanding Conference). At MUC-3 and
MUC-4, while with McDonnell Douglas 1988-93, fielded TexUS, an early
IDE for natural language processing. At TRW 1993-1998, developed the
DEFT II NLP framework for the InfoWeb document management system. At
Text Analysis International, Inc., developed the VisualText IDE, the
Conceptual Grammar KBMS, a new automated rule generation technology,
and the novel NLP++ programming language that combines a multi-pass
analyzer methodology with grammar rules, patterns, context, parse
tree, and knowledge base data types. Education: UC Berkeley, MS
