The Institute of Speech Communication ("Institut de la
Communication Parlée", ICP) directs its research efforts towards both
Engineering and Human Sciences. The ICP includes a hundred researchers
working in the field of speech communication, addressing
simultaneously fundamental aspects concerning the modeling of human
intelligence such as speech production and perception, man-machine
communication, phonetics and linguistics, as well as supporting
technologies such as synthesis of speaking faces, automatic speech
recognition and multi modal man-machine interfaces.
